With small classes and strong relationships, teachers know each student well, how they think, where they shine, and where they need a guiding hand.
After-school academic support classes in maths and languages offer the space for more individual guidance.
Our teachers notice early when a student is struggling or unsure. Support begins with conversation, encouragement, and practical strategies that help the child understand how they learn best.
Most support happens right in the classroom. Teachers adapt lessons, adjust pace, and offer individual guidance so that every child feels included and able to succeed. Students working at an advanced level are extended through additional learning materials.
We avoid unnecessary stress where possible. There are no traditional, high-stakes exams in Grades 4 – 9. Grade 10 -12 assessments, including exams, are thoughtful and balanced. Feedback focuses on growth, not comparison.
We welcome different learning profiles and work closely with families. When external specialists are involved, we collaborate to ensure consistent support.
Across Prep and High School, we help students build the habits they need to thrive: organisation, planning, study skills, and the confidence to ask for help.
Learning support at Cedar House is rooted in connection, trust, and the belief that every student can flourish.
